Cengage and Quizlet Announce Agreement to Give Cengage Unlimited Subscribers Free Premium Access to Quizlet

BOSTON and SAN FRANCISCO, August 23, 2018 – Cengage, an education and technology company, and Quizlet, the most popular online learning platform in the U.S., today announced an agreement to give Cengage Unlimited subscribers free premium access to Quizlet.

Cengage Unlimited offers students complete access to more than 22,000 digital products across 70 disciplines and 675 courses – for $119.99 per semester or $179.99 a year. Students using Cengage technology platforms, like MindTap or WebAssign, also have the option of a print rental for $7.99 with free shipping.

The agreement gives Cengage Unlimited subscribers six months of free access to Quizlet Plus, which offers ad-free studying, advanced content creation tools and more premium features on Quizlet. This is in addition to the flashcards, games and learning tools that are part of the free core Quizlet offering. With the partnership, Cengage Unlimited subscribers will have a single spot to go for Cengage and user-generated content both online and offline, as well as the ability to create their own online study materials.

Starting today, Quizlet Plus is available to Cengage Unlimited subscribers. In addition, beginning in January, Cengage Unlimited users will have access to exclusive Cengage content across multiple key course areas through the Quizlet Verified Creators Program.

“Affordable access to quality learning is the foundation of Cengage Unlimited,” said Judah Karkowsky, Senior Vice President of Corporate & Business Development, Cengage. “This groundbreaking subscription model has been incredibly well-received by all parts of the higher education ecosystem. We are carefully selecting best-in-class partners for Cengage Unlimited based on student preferences and need. Quizlet has clearly demonstrated the ability to drive immense value as a study aid to over 30 million active users a month.”

“Bringing Cengage’s world-class digital course material to the Quizlet platform is a great opportunity for Quizlet users, and we are thrilled to be a part of Cengage’s innovation in the space,” said Thompson Paine, Vice President of Business Development at Quizlet. “As we share a mutual goal of improving student outcomes, our hope is that by partnering with Cengage we can help students everywhere be successful this school year.”
